Day 6 - Saturday June 18
GOD’S GLORY

This part is a bit hard to understand, but it’s important. One thing that we are praying about for our nation of Canada is that God’s Glory would fill our land.

What exactly does this mean? God’s Glory is His character. In other words, God shows his glory, not by what He can DO, but by WHO HE IS

Now Moses was a friend of God and had seen God do some pretty AWESOME things: Like parting the red sea, hitting a rock and having water come out, feeding 100’s of thousands of people with manna, thunder and lightening on Mt Sinai and the giving of the law and so on. BUT you know what Moses asked for? He didn’t want to know God by just His signs and wonders BUT asked God to show His glory.

“And the Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him (Moses) and he called upon the name of the Lord. Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow in anger, and abounding in loving kindness and truth: who keeps loving kindness for thousands, who forgives sins yet will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.” Exodus 43: 5-6.

When we pray that God’s glory would fill Canada, we are praying that the people in Canada will know who God really is, not some lame image that is far from the truth.  We are praying that God’s character would be seen through us as Christians and that the corporate behavior of the church and the nation would be an expression of His character.   This consecration call is all about that.  People together, living the way God intended them to live in holiness and in unity.

For God to fill our land with compassion, kindness, truth, love, forgiveness and so on.  How is He going to do that? When we ask God to fill us with His Spirit and allow Him to impact everyone around us.  When every day we ask,  “What would Jesus Do?” in this situation and then obey what God is prompting.  When we all act together with ONE HEART can you imagine what could happen?

How about you? Are you more interested in what God can do, or do you want to know God’s heart and character.  To think about: would you rather have someone love you just because of who you are or only because of what you did for them? Today ask yourself, “Is what I am doing, or thinking, or watching something that Jesus would do?”

These verses speak about what God is going to do on the earth, how His glory will rest on His people and shine through them.  With these thoughts in mind speak these verses out in faith over Canada.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord will rise upon you.  See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear over you. Isaiah 60:1
