The Gatekeepers

For over 10 years, the church in Canada has been on a journey with the Lord to remove stones of offense that healing and reconciliation may come and the church in Canada can be prepared as a dwelling place for the glory of the Lord.

One of the key motivators of our journey is our longing to see the First Peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) healed and released to the fullness of their destiny as original gatekeepers of this land.

The Gatekeepers documents the journey with the First Peoples, with highlights from the Ottawa 2004 and One Heart (July 2005) gatherings. It is a powerful tool to continue the process of healing among the First Peoples and between them and the church of Canada.

What drove us into this whole journey (in Canada) was when we saw the pain of the First Nations... The highlight of our First Gathering in Whistler was the First Nations People. And ten- years later we find we are not praying for a breakthrough for the First Nations. But there is a remnant of them now taking the lead... David Demian

To me it was a very significant thing of the Native people coming into the leadership, which I believe God has ordained for the native people...
David Mainse

I see now first nations are being called into their position to truly be the spiritual gatekeepers of this land. And they themselves will have to come together as one, to be able to converge with all the other nations. So that we become a body with one heart. Kenny Blacksmith
